1957 Chevrolet Bel Air

Introducing this custom 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, an iconic American classic that combines unmistakable ’57 Chevrolet styling with a long list of performance and drivability upgrades. Originally a Texas car, this Bel Air is finished in a Lexus color called Matador Red and has been extensively updated while retaining the character that makes these cars so desirable.

Under the hood is a Phoenix Engines-built 350 cubic-inch small-block V8 rated at 328 horsepower. A Holley Sniper electronic fuel-injection system brings modern fuel delivery to the classic small-block, while Hedman headers complete the performance-oriented setup. Power is sent through a Turbo 350 automatic transmission built by Monster Transmission and equipped with a TH350 torque converter.

The car has also been upgraded with Eckler’s rack-and-pinion steering, giving it a more modern steering setup than the original configuration. A B&M Sport Shifter handles gear selection from inside the car, while Corbeau sport bucket seats and Auto Meter Arctic White gauges add to the custom driver-focused interior. The gauges are housed in a custom gauge cover from Pete’s Fabrication.

One of the most distinctive modifications is the power-operated tilt front end. The original-metal front clip can be tilted forward remotely using HIWI Microsystems actuators and a linear actuator remote system, providing impressive access to the engine compartment. The traditional hood remains fully operational as well, allowing it to be opened normally without tilting the entire front end.

The stance is completed by Torq-Thrust II wheels measuring 17x7 inches up front and 17x8 inches in the rear, fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires measuring 215/50ZR17 in front and 235/55ZR17 in the rear. The combination gives the Bel Air an updated appearance without losing the classic proportions that define the 1957 Chevrolet.
